On June 22, Sailable Association of Nova Scotia held our 7th annual Bar-B-Q. Finally, after 2 years of horrible weather, Mother Nature cooperated and we were treated to a warm, sunny day with a bit of wind.
Approximately 25 individuals came out to the Bar-B-Q and more than half of them had a chance to go sailing in one of our Martin 16 sailboats. Our instructors, David and Dee were kept busy all day rotating between sailors and getting them out on the water.
During the event, people were able to enjoy a hot dog and drink and socialize with other interested sailors.
At this time I would like to thank volunteers who helped out with the event (Debbie Earle “master Bar-B-Q chef”, Rachel Dorrington, Shahar Jawamis, and Mitchell Shaw). Also a special thanks to the Royal Nova Scotia Yacht Squadron for the use of their Bar-B-Q and facility.
David and Dee are now working full time Wednesday-Sunday and are now available to take bookings for sailing lessons. Remember, membership fees are $25 per year and it cost $7 per sail. If interested please send an e-mail or call David or Dee.
Looking forward to a great season!
